Gallagher: 'jay-z Shouldn't Play Glastonbury'
Oasis rocker Christmastide GALLAGHER has slammed hip-hop star JAY-Z for daring to headline Britain's legendary Glastonbury festival - insisting he is not rock 'n' undulate enough.
The Live Eternally guitar player is blaming the rapper for the deficiency of tickets sold at this year's (Jun08) event, which managed to shift just one C,000 passes on the first day.
The Wonderwall hitmaker has accused organisers of the event, which normally sells come out in a matter of hours, of steering the festival to a fault far away from its tilt 'n' roll up roots.
He says, "If it ain't broke don't fix it.
"If you start to break it then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, just Jay-Z? No chance.
"Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they bewilder the odd curved shape orb in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?'
"I don't know around it. But I'm not having hip joint hop at Glastonbury. It's damage."
Haven headlined the main stage at Glastonbury in 1995 and 2004, with the case selling out on both occasions.
